How To Plan The Best Bachelorette Party...EVER!
Okay, to be honest, it still feels pretty crazy that I had my bachelorette party last weekend. We went to Tulum, Mexico for four nights and five days of sunshine, tacos, and mezcal. It was INCREDIBLE. While Corey was busy up in Tahoe in the snow, we were cruising the beach, enjoying the pool at our AirBnB and eating…a lot.
I really wanted my bachelorette party to be special so my girls and I took our time planning it. In this post, you’ll find the major details that pulled this party together so for any bride-to-be’s or maid of honors looking to plan the best bachelorette party ever, look no further.
When To Plan Your Bachelorette Party
Because we were going international, we decided to start planning the bachelorette party in August (about 6-7 months out). You want all your girls to be able to come, so give them lots of time to make it happen. The AirBnb, flights and extracurriculars like day trips, going out to eat, and shopping, isn’t always cheap (especially in Tulum) so be mindful of everyone’s budgets and give them space to plan on their own.
The best part about planning it 6+ months in advance is that you have your pick of the best AirBnB’s and hotels. Tulum is BEAUTIFUL for both of these and we lucked out by staying at the Beachmore Tulum, an AirBnB located just off the strip in the central town. It was walking distance to all the cheaper shops and food and slept 8 people. Plus, it is literally my dream house and made all our photo-opps absolutely stunning.
Where To Stay For Your Bachelorette Party
Aim to get an AirBnB rather than stay at hotels (unless budget isn’t an issue!), so everyone can be together, you can cook meals and enjoy some privacy. Our AirBnB had a full kitchen and pool so it felt like a mini resort all to ourselves.
My maid of honor and matron of honor surprised us with a private chef on the first morning that we arrived so see if you can arrange for something similar. Our Babes Brunch was SO cute because the girls made place cards for everyone, custom menus, and brought in cute tropical decor.
What To Do For Your Bachelorette Party
I am so grateful for my maid and matron of honor because they planned all the activities while we were there and organized everything. Each day, we had a different theme (My fave: Feyonce’s Last Night Out) and all the girls would wear something special (tropical, all black, all red, etc.).
Because Tulum is known for their beautiful spaces and incredible food, we spent the trip visiting the best restaurants and super-vibey hotels. We went to Kin Toh, Rosa Negra, Hartwood, and Gitano (read my full Tulum Guide here).
One of the days, we also opted for a local activity and visiting the famous Cenotes for a guided snorkeling tour. It was super fun because it’s not something you can do in California (or anywhere else in the world) so we did take advantage of the more “traveling touristy” stuff since we traveled all that way!
What To Wear For Your Bachelorette Party
Okay, this was probably the most fun part to plan because I went all out on bride-to-be vibes. I essentially wore all white the entire time (besides my super cute swimsuits from Vitamin A Swim pictured above) and went straight to BHLDN to dress me for the special weekend trip. I mean, how beautiful is the Ginger Convertible dress below? I am absolutely obsessed and it can be worn like a million different ways.
Make Gift Bags for Your Girls!
Because your girls are spending money for the weekend with you, I think it is really special to get them all something that they will remember. We all wore beautiful kimonos and robes throughout the weekend to get ready to that were all through BHLDN (it’s seriously the best brand for all things weddings) and my maid and matron of honor made the BEST gift bags ever (yes, there were penis whistles!).
What we included in the gift bags:
Maui Babe Sunscreen, Browning Lotion, and After Sun Lotion
Vital Proteins Zen Collagen Boost Shots
Beekeeper’s Naturals Propolis Spray
Fourth & Heart Ghee Butter Travel Packets
Liquid IV Hydration Multiplier
Advil + Party Smart
Copal Burning Sticks
Saje Natural Wellness Fortify Oil Blend
Overall, the most important part of planning is to keep it STRESS FREE and fun. This is one of the most memorable experiences in your life and whether you decide to keep it local or international, it’s all about the people you are with and the love that is surrounding the weekend. Everything else is just a cherry on top. ;)
