This week on the Alchemized Life, we welcome functional-medicine expert, Dr. Will Cole. Growing up, Dr. Cole’s family placed a strong emphasis on food, seeking out farm-to-table, organic fare. While his childhood friends enjoyed Captain Crunch for breakfast, Dr. Cole ate cereal made out of sprouted grains and fruit. Once he was a teenager, Dr. Cole decided to take his health conscious approach to nutrition to the next level. He explored many different eating modalities vegan, keto and paleo in order to see how each affected his overall health. Through observation, he was empowered to pick-and-choose what nourished his body to create a nutrition plan that minimized inflammation in the body.
Inspired to share his passion for food, nutrition and health, Dr. Cole became a Functional Medicine Practitioner and Doctor of Chiropractics. Rather than perpetuating an “assembly line” approach to medicine, Dr. Cole works closely with his patients to uncover the source of inflammation in the body. Because everyone’s body is different, he empowers his patients to lean into a healthy lifestyle by eating intuitively and managing stress. Food isn’t meant to be a stressful experience. It’s meant to nourish, heal and enrich our day-to-day lives.
